Synopsis

The Myth of Justice by Graham Pears

Francis Whittle - aka Jet - is a Tyneside detective. When an unconscious man is admitted to hospital he is called upon to investigate. The case rapidly embroils him in the savage world of organised crime and corruption, where even he is under threat and suspicion.

Jet embarks upon a breath-taking journey where he discovers the devastating cost of being an honest man. For the detective the question becomes not only 'Will justice prevail?' but will he himself survive?

"Graham Pears has used his in-depth knowledge of crime in Newcastle City to create a realistic and thrilling story. Jet is a fascinating detective creation that will capture the reader from beginning to the very end."
Newcastle Evening Chronicle

"To Morse of Oxford and Rebus of Edinburgh we will now have to add Jet of Newcastle."
Bill Purdue

Graham Pears joined the police cadets in 1974 and retired as a Chief Superintendent with Northumbria Police in 2007. Whilst in the middle of a busy career he took an arts degree as a diversion from day-to-day policing, following on with an MA in creative writing. Although he had originally started work on his first degree to give him a break from police work, it seemed natural for him to write about crime. He has now dedicated himself to writing page-turning crime fiction. He currently lives in Stocksfield, Northumberland, with his wife June and their many pets.
